Great Educational Quotes, Adages and Sayings Can Pump You Up to Learn

Quotes on education

Who does not love a good quote? Our past leaders have left us with great quotes about education.

Some of my favorite educational quotes are, “[Kids] don’t remember what you try to teach them. They remember what you are,” said by the father of the Muppets, Jim Henson. Once of the most influential American novelist, Mark Twain, once said, “”I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.” And who can forget that C.S. Lewis, author of the beloved Narnia novel series, once said, “Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.”

What these great men are trying to get at is that an education is much more than memorized knowledge. An education is the experience gleaned from the knowledge. It is the answer to “why?” It is the answer to “what are we learning that for?” An education is the values and moral that you take away from your life experiences.

Another of my favorite educational quotes is that “You can never be overdressed or overeducated,” said by famous Irish author and poet, Oscar Wilde. This just shows that you can always learn more. And that learning is cool, because lets face it. Learning is cool.
